NEWS: Coming soon - 16th Annual Community Baby Shower, Saturday, September 24th, 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. . And to kick off the reality of yet another CBS, United Way Emerging Philanthropists conducted a Baby Shower Drive for DAPCO baby pantry. (these are photos of the delivery and stocking of our pantry in Ypsilanti.

Women United of Washtenaw County to the rescue. Thank you! The members of Women United held a recent baby drive for DAPCO to support our upcoming community baby shower that will be held October 26th. More details will be posted soon and photos from last years Community Baby Shower, entitled "A Special Place" will be featured on this page.

13th Annual Family Fun Day & Health Walk Fair 2017
Sponsors included: TCF Bank (Washtenaw County), Zingermans, Bank of Ann Arbor, SAMS CLUB (Washtenaw County), MAH Fitness and the University of Michigan Credit Union, Contributors were: Family Recovery Outreach, Ekklesia Fellowship Ministries, Pastor V. James, Bethel Deliverance Ministries, Holmes Security Services, Irene's School of Massage, A variety of volunteers and well wishers from the community. United Way’s local Women’s Leadership Initiative has granted over $230,000 to nonprofit organizations that help women achieve their dreams of economic independence. Annually, grant funds are raised by the WLI through the Power of the Purse event.
Funding for Destiny and Purpose Community Outreach (DAPCO) allows for expansion of its Parent and Baby in Need program, which primarily services female head of households in Ypsilanti.

Live United from United Way host a Baby Drive for our Annual Community Baby Shower each year. We are grateful for the partnership.
Our Executive Director, Towana Parker had the privilege of training youth in employment ethics preparation with Ekklesia Fellowship Ministries and the Covenant Pastors Fellowship. (below are some of the photos from the training. Thank you to United Way of Washtenaw County and their team from the Financial Stability initiative for coming to provide financial education and White Castle for allowing us to come, dine in for lunch and tour the inner workings of running a White Castle and speaking to the manager of the Carpenter Rd. & Packard location about the company expectations to work at White Castle, Inc.

Book Bag Give-A-Way to those who need school supplies. Thanks to the generous support of TJMaxx Carpenter Road in Ypsilanti for providing the school supplies and Office Depot, Canton for donating 50 book bags.
